WEEK 10 (17/7 - 23/7 2022)
Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!
Overall, this week is a less-stress week for me as our school had employed an extra Chemistry teacher, so my teaching credit hours decrease from 35 to 28 periods. Previously, i had 6-8 periods daily and it had really pressured me as I don't have time to finish up my daily lesson plan’s reflection and preparedness for the next class. I don't even have time to take a break and need to finish my meal in hurry. This week, I think I am more focus towards my lesson everyday and could prepare some extra materials for my students such as chemical reaction of homologous series puzzles, and flashcards. Moreover, my students seemed to be more excited and fun in Chemistry class.
Unfortunately, I'm taking over one of other teacher’s class as he went to Mecca for Haji. Facing with a whole new class, with new faces in the middle of the year is quite a challenge as they have their own behaviour and style. In addition, continuing teaching in the middle of the chapter makes me wanting to recap from the very beginning as i need to know how far their general knowledge from respective chapter. Therefore, it’s quite consuming energy and the progress of this class is much slower than the other.
In a nutshell, my school had our ‘sekolah ganti’ on Saturday and held a feast for previous year’s SPM teachers. We were celebrating their effort, time and gave their energy wholeheartedly to the SPM students. The feast was more meaningful as we cooked the 'Gulai Daging' by ourselves from scratch. It eventually bonds us together, teachers and staffs throughout the cooking process.
