WEEK 5 (12/5 - 18/5 2022) MRSM BESUT SPORTS WEEK
Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!
This week has been very tiring to all students and teachers as we have our Sports Week since Monday. The students had practiced their events every evening and weekend is their final competition. So it happens annually and on the basis of the division of the houses. It's very exciting to see most of the students participate and determine in sports throughout this week.
Preparing for tent decoration competition
While throughout the weekday mornings, we still have classes as usual. However, only 8 students present in the class on Thursday. Therefore, I didn't intended to continue the lesson, and spontaneously changed it into a Project-Based learning.
The students were asked to create atomic model of the molecules based on the molecules given. Throughout this activity, they could understand the arrangement of the atoms in 3D form and memorise the functional groups of different homologous series. I can see that students would have a deeper understanding as they are engaging the molecular compound with in real-world. The activity also made them creatively thinking and collaborate each other. Therefore, it's very important for me to implement this kind of this PBL in my lesson once a while.
